Behind-the-scenes information

Alexander Graham Bell (March 3, 1847August 2, 1922) was a scientist, inventor and engineer who is credited with patenting the first practical telephone. This invention was created by Bell, along with an electrical designer and mechanic named Thomas A. Watson, who was Bell's assistant.

In 1986, Dr. Emmett Brown told Marty McFly that he was the Thomas A. Watson to his Alexander Graham Bell, and that he wouldn't be the person he was without him.

In 1991, Doc used Bell's name as an exclamation of surprise, saying "Ring my Alexander Graham Bell."
