George Herman Ruth, Jr. (February 6, 1895 – August 16, 1948), was a famous baseball player during the 1920s.
Doc Brown input the date of February 7, 1895, and the location Baltimore, Maryland, in order to demonstrate how to input the new spatial displacement capabilities of the new DeLorean time machine, but without actually travelling there. Doc noted he chose the birthdate of his favorite baseball player, Babe Ruth. Actually, Doc didn't remember his exact birthdate, since Ruth was born on February 6th of that year, not the 7th.
On June 13, 1931, Kid Tannen expresses concern to Arthur McFly about his criminal activities being exposed as the DA is tossing out subpoenas like Babe Ruth. Arthur informs him that Ruth isn't playing baseball any more.
