There are articles on here that are not from the actual canon. How can they have canonical images? And there are some that don't have any images in the canon or the cartoon, but could be illustrated in other ways, like, for instance, The Confederate States of America. --trlkly 01:20, June 14, 2010 (UTC)

I think one reason the editors decided that every article should have at least one image is for aethetics; so that the article won't just be a block of words. Also, whether it's a stub or a long article, an image helps to spark a memory of where, in all the four films and two dozen cartoons, the topic was mentioned. However, if it was not actually seen on film, I believe that an image not from the films would help BTTF fans who are very young or who are not from the U.S. to visualize the topic of the article as they learn about American history and culture.
