Cheers is an American sitcom that aired for eleven seasons on NBC with episodes premiering from September 30, 1982 to May 20, 1993.
The show is set in the titular bar in Boston, focusing on the the bartender Sam Malone, other employees, as well as regular customers of the bar.

While a time traveling Marty McFly was at the Cafe 80s on October 21, 2015, Cheers was playing on one of the TV monitors among other shows from the 1980s.
Discontinuity[]
The cast of Cheers appear in The Earth Day Special with each of them discussing how they would help to improve the environment. This clashes with the characters being a work of fiction in the Back to the Future trilogy.
