Digital-speedometer

The digital speedometer reads 88 as Marty leaves 1955.

"Seventy!"
—Marty McFly

The digital speedometer in the DeLorean time machine was used in synchronization with its analog counterpart to determine the speed of the car as it accelerated to reach temporal displacement.

While escaping 1885, Marty McFly referred to the digital speedometer as the locomotive pushing the DeLorean got increasingly faster, screaming out the speed over one of the walkie talkies as Dr. Emmett Brown got closer.
