February 7 is the 38th day of the year.

  • 1812, Friday: Charles Dickens (writer of A Christmas Carol) is born in Landport, Hampshire, England.
  • 1895, Thursday: Babe Ruth was born this day, as claimed by Emmett Brown in 1991.
    • Although real-world biographies refer to Ruth's birthday as being February 6, 1895, it's not out of the question that baseball player George Herman Ruth was born the next day in the Back to the Future universe.  Doc's knowledge of the date would have been drawn from a book in the pre-Internet days of 1991. The ripple effect could have changed the record as well.  Doc lived with his family for eight years in the 19th century, until 1893, when he built the time train. His very presence could have created slight alterations in the timeline, in a "butterfly effect" manner.
  • 1952, Thursday: While shopping at the Hoggly Woggly grocery store, Emmett Brown has a tussle with a wrestling promoter over the last remaining potato. After winning the tussle, Emmett is offered a career by the promoter as a small town professional wrestler. Encouraged by the crowd, Emmett reluctantly accepts.
