Back to the Future comics have been published by Harvey Comics and IDW Publishing.
The first comic series by Harvey Comics was based on Back to the Future: The Animated Series. The second comic series by IDW Publishing were based on the Back to the Future films, while some later comics were also based on other media — such as Back to the Future: The Game, for example.
Back to the Future comics by Harvey Comics[]
Harvey Comics published the Back to the Future comics Back to the Future 1 in 1991, Back to the Future 2, Back to the Future 3, and Back to the Future 4 in 1992. They then switched from a stand-alone comic format to an ongoing story in Back to the Future 1 and Back to the Future 2 in 1992, and concluded with Back to the Future 3 in 1993.

Back to the Future comics by IDW Publishing[]
IDW Publishing published the Back to the Future comics Back to the Future 1, Back to the Future 2, and Back to the Future 3 in 2015, and Back to the Future 4 and Back to the Future 5 in 2016. These issues were collected in a trade paperback titled Back to the Future: Untold Tales and Alternate Timelines, and all of the alternate covers for these issues were collected in a book titled Back to the Future: Cover Gallery in 2016.
They then published Back to the Future 6, Back to the Future 7, Back to the Future 8, Back to the Future 9, Back to the Future 10, and Back to the Future 11 in 2016. These issues were collected in a trade paperback titled Back to the Future: Continuum Conundrum.
They also adapted Telltale's Back to the Future: The Game into a comic in Back to the Future: Citizen Brown 1, Back to the Future: Citizen Brown 2, Back to the Future: Citizen Brown 3, Back to the Future: Citizen Brown 4, and Back to the Future: Citizen Brown 5 in 2016. These issues were collected in a trade paperback titled Back to the Future: Citizen Brown.
They released Back to the Future 12, Back to the Future 13, Back to the Future 14, and Back to the Future 15 in 2016. They then released Back to the Future 16, and Back to the Future 17 in 2017. These issues were collected in a trade paperback titled Back to the Future: Who Is Marty McFly?
They also further explored the 1985A timeline in Back to the Future: Biff to the Future 1, Back to the Future: Biff to the Future 2, Back to the Future: Biff to the Future 3, Back to the Future: Biff to the Future 4, Back to the Future: Biff to the Future 5, Back to the Future: Biff to the Future 6 in 2017. These issues were collected in a trade paperback titled Back to the Future: Biff to the Future.
