The fuel chamber of the DeLorean time machine held the plutonium and the later Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor that powered the flux capacitor. It was accessible via a circular port on the rear of the car.
The fuel chamber is not to be confused with the fuel tank.
It was lead-lined when plutonium was the DeLorean's power source of temporal displacement to protect others from the hazardous radiation it emitted.
Behind the scenes[]
- The base of the DeLorean's fuel chamber was constructed from a hubcap of a Dodge Polara.
