Harold Lloyd (b. April 20, 1893 in Burchard, Nebraska; d. March 8, 1971 in Beverly Hills, California) was a silent film actor in the 1920s, who performed many of his own stunts.

Behind the scenes

One of Lloyd's films, Safety Last (1923) was referenced during the pan of Doc's laboratory, as a clock is shown featuring Lloyd hanging from a clock tower. This foreshadows the events later in the film as Emmett Brown (played by another Lloyd, Christopher Lloyd) hangs onto the edge of the Hill Valley Courthouse's clock tower.
