The iPod was a portable music player released by Apple, beginning in 2001. In 2007, all further iPod models used the operating system created for iPhone, iOS. iOS was used in many of Apple's computers, including smartphones, tablet computers, and television set top boxes.

On September 29, 1997, Emmett Brown examined many of the devices that Marcus Irving had taken from the future using his Yugo time machine, including the original iPod.
