Jackson went to Hill Valley Elementary School in 1992. He invited all the children in the neighborhood to play in his swimming pool, including Verne Brown. When Jules Brown asked if he could join them, Jackson told him that "brainiacs" weren't allowed.

At home, Jules lamented the fact that it seemed intelligent children always lacked friends. When Verne his tree, and suggested that he make a money tree, Jules decided he would use it to buy friends. Jackson began to invite Jules to his house, however he abused his wealth, making him buy him items, and still didn't treat him like a friend.
