"Bathtub Jim" McFly was a brewmaster in Chicago, Illinois in 1927 and an ancestor to Marty McFly.
History[]
He was hired by Arnie "Eggs" Benedict to brew his bootleg alcohol. "Mugsy" Tannen and "Battleship" Potempkin, Benedict's muscle men, kept him from leaving.
When Marty McFly and Doc Brown arrived in 1927, they posed as a rival gangster named "Zipper" McFly, and his brew master Dr. Brown.
Marty staged a fake police raid using sound effects with a key ring from 1991. This allowed Doc to get the distilled juniper berries he needed to cure the eye infection from which his dog Einstein suffered. It also allowed Marty to free his relative Jim McFly from being employed by gangsters.
Behind the Scenes[]
- It's possible that Jim McFly was a cousin to Arthur McFly as both appear to be of similar age and were seen in the same era, thus presumably making him George McFly's uncle and Marty McFly's, as well as his siblings, granduncle.
- Coincidentally enough, both Arthur McFly and Jim McFly were pushed around by Tannens who were mob gangsters, I.e "Mugsy" Tannen and Kid Tannen.
- It is also possible that Jim could've been the son of Pee Wee McFly as his birth year could've been around the same time of Pee Wee.
