"Who the hell is John F. Kennedy?"
—Sam Baines

John Fitzgerald Kennedy (May 29, 1917November 22, 1963), often referred to by his initials J.F.K., was the 35th President of the United States, serving from 1961 until his assassination in 1963.

The city of Hill Valley renamed Riverside Drive in Kennedy's honor, sometime between 1955 and 1985, and probably after the 1963 assassination.

After serving as a Congressman, Kennedy was elected to the United States Senate in 1952. The Senator from Massachusetts was not well-known in California in 1955, and Sam Baines was somewhat irritated when Marty McFly said that the town included a "John F. Kennedy Drive".[1]

A bust of Kennedy could be seen in the display window of the antique/memorabilia store Blast from the Past in 2015.[2]
