Jonah was the name of Emmett Brown's great-uncle. The Brown family planned to visit him in 1991.
Trivia
- Jonah is only ever mentioned once, by Christopher Lloyd in the live-action segment of the episode "Super Doc".
- While packing for the trip, Doc says that they're going to the airport. This may mean that no time travel was involved in the vacation and that Jonah was still alive in 1991. This would make him very, very old.
