A kill-switch breathalyzer was a futuristic safety mechanism in 2015.

Judging by the name, it can be safely assumed that this device was both capable of detecting if the pilot of a flying car was under the influence of alcohol and automatically shutting down the car's engine, flying systems etc. — thus preventing the pilot from committing the dangerous act of drunk flying.

According to the Newsline column on the front page of the October 22, 2015 issue of USA Today, Katie Pearson, a new lobbyist hired by the organization Mothers Against Drunk Flying, was to lead a campaign to install kill-switch breathalyzers in flying cars.[1]
