Behind-the-scenes information
"Don't mess with Lew Wasserman, is the moral of that story. We didn't even know we were messing with him."
—Bob Gale

Lew Wasserman (March 22[1], 1913 - June 3, 2002) was the chairman of the board at MCA during the filming of the Back to the Future trilogy.

After Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale stopped working for Universal in protest of a payraise for filming Back to the Future Part III, Wasserman called Zemeckis personally and "scared the bejeezus" out of him, a thing that according to Gale would never happen because no one ever heard from Wasserman. Wasserman's presence forced the Bobs back to work, and without the payraise.[2]
