The McFly residence in 1955.

"They [Marty and George] soon arrived at the house with a placard hanging from the porch. It read THE MCFLYS. A bit tacky for 1985 but probably chic for 1955, Marty thought."
—From Back to the Future by George Gipe (quote, page 158)

The McFly residence on Sycamore Street was home to Arthur and Sylvia McFly, and their son George McFly in 1955.

The house faced downtown and was accessible by a few streets. It had a backyard with a clothesline, where George hung his family's clothes to dry while his new friend Marty outlined his plan to get George and Lorraine Baines together.

The only part of the house's interior which was seen was George's bedroom. George kept at least one science fiction magazine by his bed. One night, Marty entered George's bedroom. Posing as "Darth Vader from the planet Vulcan", he startled George awake and threatened to "melt his brain" unless he took Lorraine to the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance.
