Mel's Garage was an establishment in Courthouse Square in 1931. It was located on the future site of the Texaco service station.
On November 24, 1931, Emmett Brown used it as a location for testing his rocket car, presumably because his father would not allow such chaotic experiments to take place at the Brown mansion.
