Melora Diane Hardin (born June 29, 1967 in Houston, Texas) is an American actress who was the second choice to play Jennifer Parker in Back to the Future, and was chosen when Claudia Wells became temporarily unavailable to shoot.
However, before any scenes were filmed with Melora, Eric Stoltz was let go. Since she would have then stood taller than Michael J. Fox, Melora was also let go – thus enabling Claudia to have a second opportunity to grab the role.
Melora is perhaps best known for the role of Jan Levinson, the boss/love interest of Steve Carrell's Michael Scott on the U.S. version of the comedy series The Office (2005–2013).
