The Money Tree was a new plant type engineered by Jules Brown in 1992. The idea was given to him by Verne Brown when he was complaining that 'money doesn't grow on trees'. After the money tree's creation, Jules becomes very popular at school, and begins buying things for his new 'friends'. Eventually, however, the Brown family become greedy. After Jules and his new invention make the news, the FBI catch wind of the story and begin chasing down Jules for running what they believe to be a counterfeiting operation. Biff Tannen also sees the news and, along with Biff, Jr., steals the money tree. In an attempt to retrieve the tree from the Tannens, Jules and Verne nearly get hurt. This makes Emmett and Clara realize that the money isn't worth their boys getting harmed over. The FBI catch up with Biff and Biff, Jr. and they arrest them, with the money tree itself dying shortly after.
