Doc Brown demonstrates a hot air balloon, which he mentions was first demonstrated by the Montgolfier brothers in 1783.
The Montgolfier brothers, Joseph-Michel Montgolfier (August 26, 1740 – June 26, 1810) and Jacques-Étienne Montgolfier (January 6, 1745 – August 2, 1799), were inventors.
They held the first public demonstration of a hot air balloon in flight, in France, on September 19, 1783.
