Newton[1] was one of three horses named by Emmett Brown in 1885, along with Galileo and Archimedes. He was named after the 17th/18th century English physicist/mathematician Isaac Newton, a portrait of whom hung in Doc's mansion in 1955.
Note
- In Back to the Future Part II first draft screenplay, Doc had a dog named Newton in 1967[2].
