The pteranodon was a pterosaur that became extinct during the Cretaceous Period. It had wings and was toothless. Until the late 1870s, it was classified as a pterodactyl.
In 3000000 B.C., a pteranodon was befriended and christened by Verne Brown as Donnie after saving Doc, Jules, and Verne during their visit to the past. Donnie was killed by the meteor which caused the extinction of the dinosaurs.
