"Reginald, gimme your keys!"
—Marvin Berry

Reginald was the drummer for The Starlighters. He owned the Cadillac that the band used to get to the Enchantment Under the Sea dance. When he couldn't find his keys to open the trunk that Marty McFly was locked in, it was his third time he had left them in the trunk.

Behind the scenes

The subtitles to the DVD and the script make it clear that the drummer is Reginald. Other observers had thought that Marvin was saying, "Lorenzo, gimme your keys!"

While no source specifically identifies actor David Harold Brown as Reginald, the drummer, the other actors playing the Starlighters are Harry Waters, Jr. (Marvin, who played guitar and was the lead vocalist); Tommy Thomas, who played the saxophone; Granville "Danny" Young, who played the upright bass; and Lloyd L. Tolbert, who played the piano. Tolbert, too, is a drummer, but played the keyboards for the studio recording.
