In 1986, Emmett Brown hadn't been seen for months. Worried about his friend, Marty McFly had a dream of the temporal displacement experiment, but everything was distorted. In his dream, the store appeared under the name of Rubarbison's.
Behind the scenes
- Robinson's was a major department store chain in Southern California and Arizona, founded in Los Angeles in 1881. The company was acquired by The May Department Stores Company in 1986, and was subsequently renamed Robinsons-May in 1993. The May Department Stores Company itself was acquired by Macy's in 2005, and all of its stores were then rebranded as Macy's. The Robinson's store depicted in the film still operates today as a Macy's location at the Puente Hills Mall.
