Rust was a reddish brown coating which formed on metals such as iron that had been exposed to moisture.
History
The International Center for Alternative Scientific Theory (ICAST) had spent five years determining if rust was actually a living organism of extra-terrestrial origin, according to Dr. Glenann Godden when she was interviewed for the news story Cholesterol may be cancer cure on the front page of the October 22, 2015 issue of USA Today.
According to Steve Pearson of ICAST, the privately funded McBride Rust Study had conclusively proved that rust was not an alien life form.[1]
