The silver mine was where Doc Brown and Marty McFly placed the DeLorean time machine onto Carson Spur and camped out until dawn. It was located a half mile from the main line.

Behind the mine, there was a clearing that accessed the main line. Clara Clayton used this path to ride a horse from where the passenger cars were stopped to where Locomotive 131 was with the DeLorean.
