- In the extended version of the scene, Marty claimed to be under command of the Supreme Klingon Commander, referencing the Klingon race.
- In episode 1 of Back to the Future: The Game, Marty, needing the 1931 Emmett Brown to build him a Rocket-powered drill, claimed to be from the patents office. He told Emmett that if he couldn't make the drill, that the patent would be given to a Dr. McCoy. Dr. McCoy could be a reference to Star Trek doctor Leonard McCoy (Though the X-Men character Beast also went by Dr. McCoy as his name was Henry McCoy).
