Star Trek

Star Trek is an American Science Fiction franchise that started with the series of the same name from 1966. It has had several spinoff shows and movies, as well as exposure in other mediums like comic books and video games.

Star Trek: The Next Generation

• In the episode "Hollow Pursuits," a component of antigravity unit was called a "flux capacitor."
• In the episode "Sub Rosa", a grave on the Caldos Colony planet belongs to "McFly."

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

• In the series finale "What You Leave Behind," Miles O'Brien jokes about leaving the station to teach at Starfleet Academy because "somebody has to teach you officers the difference between a warp matrix flux capacitor and a self-sealing stem bolt."

Star Trek: Voyager

• In the episode "Prototype", B'Elanna states "I'm going to try to adjust the flux capacitance."

• In the episode "Cathexis", Tom Paris reminisces about "Good Old Doc Brown".

Star Trek/Legion of Super Heroes

• In #5 (released 2/15/12), the two separate universes inhabited by the Legion of Super Heroes, and the crew of Captain James Tiberius Kirk, are merged into a single timeline. Members of both groups encounter an immortal emperor who states that they aren't the only time travelers to visit him. He shows them an exhibit of time travel vehicles, including the DeLorean time machine.[1][2]

References to Star Trek

• In Back to the Future, Marty McFly while in the guise of Darth Vader, claimed to be from the Planet Vulcan. The planet is the homeworld of Star Trek characters Spock and Sarek.
  • In the extended version of the scene, Marty claimed to be under command of the Supreme Klingon Commander, referencing the Klingon race.
• In episode 1 of Back to the Future: The Game, Marty, needing the 1931 Emmett Brown to build him a Rocket-powered drill, claimed to be from the patents office. He told Emmett that if he couldn't make the drill, that the patent would be given to a Dr. McCoy. Dr. McCoy could be a reference to Star Trek doctor Leonard McCoy (Though the X-Men character Beast also went by Dr. McCoy as his name was Henry McCoy).
