"Hey, boy. You all right?"
—The piano player speaking to Marty.

One member of the Starlighters was a piano player.

The pianist participated in the Enchantment Under the Sea dance as part of the band.

He played along with Marty McFly during "Earth Angel" and "Johnny B. Goode" until Marty starting acting strange on the guitar.

Behind the scenes

  • Lloyd L. Tolbert played the piano in both films, and played the keyboards for the studio recording of the three Starlighters songs from the film. Tolbert is a music producer and arranger who has worked with Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, and other artists, and is also an accomplished drummer. [1] [2]
  • The novelization suggests that the piano player is named Bob Jordan, although his name is never mentioned in the film.
