- "Boys, would you take a look-see at these pearly whites! Hell, I ain't seen teeth that straight that warn't store-bought."
- —Stubble about Marty
Stubble was a member of Buford's gang in 1885. He had blond hair and a beard of stubble on his face, and usually stood behind Buford at his right side (on the left when facing them). He appeared to be the smartest or at least the most talkative of Buford's gang, since he reminded the forgetful Buford that they didn't have their guns at the Hill Valley Festival, the meaning of the word "forfeit", and that the number seven followed six.
Behind the scenes
Although Stubble was never called by name in the film -- his name appeared only in the screenplay of Back to the Future Part III, and was called "Buford's gang member #1" in the credits.
More than 100 years later, and hours after Marty's return from 1885 to 1985, Marty spots someone who resembles Stubble when Needles pulls alongside his truck at a stoplight. Sitting on the passenger side of the truck is Needles' Gang Member #1, who is also portrayed by Wynne.
