Move to Eastwood Ravine[]

Perhaps, we should move the meat of this article under Eastwood Ravine and have the redirect from Shonash Ravine to Eastwood Ravine. The only reason I say this is because in the final known timeline, the ravine is named Eastwood Ravine. --Taybo20 22:51, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

  • True, but historically it is less confusing to use in the articles since most of the usage is with the ravine while it is still named Shonash Ravine. Eastwood Ravine only occurs in the timeline once Marty "dies" according the townsfolk. Now I can see where it would be historically accurate to place the last known name as the article title since this is from a historian's POV sometime in the future. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:45, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
    • I suppose it would just depend on the overall timeline that we want to use on Futurepedia. I don't know if this has been talked about or not, but it might be good to give some thought to having a single timeline that we reference everything too. Then on the pages we could explain what the former name was and how it was changed. I understand when talking about events in Part III that it is easiest to refer to Shonash Ravine, since it is the "current" name of the ravine, but if the link just redirected to Eastwood Ravine, then we could explain how the name changed in honor of "Clint Eastwood". It would be the same on the Twin Pines Mall page. I hope I'm not to far off base. --Taybo20 17:23, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
      • That is ultimately the trick to writing what I call "4th-dimensional articles". Obviously everything else will redirect to an article, but naming it is unclear. Still all that's required is a page move to the new name, overwriting the existing redirect. -- Riffsyphon1024 22:27, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
        • I agree. First and foremost we should get this wiki better established then we can talk about the other stuff.--Taybo20 23:37, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Clayton Ravine?[]

Should the page say that it was called "Clayton Ravine", as only Marty and Doc knew it as that? After their interference which prevented Clara from going over it, it was called Eastwood Ravine, so it would NEVER have been called "Clayton Ravine" in the first place, since Clara lived. Should this be taken OFF the page? HarryPotterRules1 (talk) 04:31, August 20, 2012 (UTC)

Yes to the first question, no to the second. It's no different than the Twin Pines Mall, which Marty and Doc and all of us in the real world remember from having been in the original timeline, though it's called Lone Pine Mall in the timelines that were created after they interfered with history. Back to the Future timeline explains the idea of all those different timelines.
