Is Dean Strickland actually Gerald?[]
While a Dean Strickland IS mentioned in the cartoon, it was never shown that it was Gerald himself was it? It wouldnt be hard to imagine an entire clan of anal-retentive Stricklands in the Education profession. I think Verne even mentioned there being a Principal Strickland at his elementary school. Who he quoted as saying "The McFly's always took up space." Which supports the notion that Gerald isn't the only educational authority in the family. And we know Gerald has an older brother from the game.
Not trying to be difficult. Just requesting the source that says Gerald became the Dean.
- That could be difficult to know however. I haven't had a chance to view all the episodes of the animated series since their original airings in the 90s, and we're still working on getting detailed info for each episode. - Alright. I may have missed a few episodes in the secend season, but of the wntire first season, I'm pretty certain that Dean Strickland was only named, with no other background. I know Verne's testimony was probably from Solar Sailors so we know there's at least two Stricklands since Gerald cant be both. Doug Exeter 09:55, March 2, 2011 (UTC)
- One notion that might support that Gerald isn't Dean Strickland is that he's remained the Principal of HVHS for 30 straight years at the very least. I doubt he'd give up the pension that late in the game. And as big of a hardnose as he was regarding the McFly's, I doubt he'd uproot himself for the sole purpose of following and tormenting Marty. When was the name of Gerald's older brothergiven? We only know his brother exists in Edna's picture. I don't recall the name "Robert" actually being said.
