Tannensaurus was a large red dinosaur that lived in the Alternate 1991. He acted as an police officer upon seeing the DeLorean time machine, he tried to sell it to a science laboratory. As Doc, Jules, and Verne Brown escaped in the DeLorean, he attempted to latch on with his tongue but became injured in the struggle.

He referred to another officer as "tailhead".
