Roy's Records façade

Roy's Records advertises the arrival of "The Ballad of Davy Crockett".

"The Ballad of Davy Crockett" was a song with music composed by George Bruns and with lyrics by Thomas W. Blackburn. It was recorded by many artists, including Fess Parker, who portrayed Davy Crockett in the Disneyland anthology series; and Tennessee Ernie Ford, who also sang "16 Tons".

The song made it's debut in Disneyland on October 27, 1954 and heard on the Disneyland miniseries "Davy Crocket" on December 15 of that year

When Marty McFly first arrived at Courthouse Square in Hill Valley in 1955, Roy's Records was advertising the arrival of "The Ballad of Davy Crockett".

That same year, the Fess Parker version of "The Ballad of Davy Crockett" played on the jukebox when Marty McFly first entered Lou's Cafe.
