The Wizard of Oz is a musical fantasy film first released on August 25, 1939 that was based of the book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz which was first published on May 17, 1900.
It featured Judy Garland as Dorothy Gale who found herself trapped in another world by the name of Oz and had to find her way back home with help from her new friends, while evading the Wicked Witch of the West.

When Doc Brown shows up to see Marty McFly and Jennifer Parker on October 27, 1985, the scientist wears the same clothing as Professor Marvel.
When Doc and Marty are to be thrown into a pit with Bufo Marinus frogs, the former reminds the latter of the Wicked Witch of the West's fate.
After believing himself to be losing brain power, Doc performs on piano the Scarecrow's song If I Only Had a Brain.
On March 4, 1986, Marty brings up the phrase "There's no place like home" and tells Doc it's from a movie who in turn brings up familiarity with it and that he read the original book.
In 1986G, Marty upon walking down the halls to meet Citizen Brown, feels like he is walking down the halls from The Wizard of Oz.
