Timeline 31 was a timeline created when Dr. Emmett Brown and Einstein traveled from May 14, 1986 to May 1931.
Events

- 1931
- May: Doc and Einstein arrive from 1986 to create a McFly family book by tracking Arthur "Artie" McFly and Sylvia "Trixie Trotter" Miskin for the book. Edna Strickland is involved in a scuffle with Einstein shortly after burning down Kid Tannen's speakeasy and as a result blames Doc (under the alias "Carl Sagan").
- Saturday, May 30: Doc is arrested for the arson of Kid's speakeasy.
- Saturday, June 13: For a "safety precaution", Doc is taken by Hill Valley Police Department and to another facility.
- Sunday, June 14, 1:15 a.m.: Doc is found dead. Kid is suspected. Einstein is sent to May 14, 1986.

- Wednesday, May 14: Marty wakes up and meets his father George at Doc's lab. After encountering Biff, the DeLorean appears with Einstein in it. This creates Timeline 32, which begins at Einstein's entry point on May 14, 1986.
