Will Hare (born March 30, 1916 – died August 31, 1997) was an American actor, best known for playing Otis Peabody, the elderly farmer of Twin Pines Ranch in the first Back to the Future film. As Hare aged, he began to act in stage.

Hare was born in Elkins, West Virginia, born to George Thomas Hare and Frances Laetitia Satterfield.[1] He had appeared on stage, in films, and television since he was 17. Becoming a veteran of stage for over a half of a century, Hare's film debut was Alfred Hitchcock's The Wrong Man (1956) and his final theatrical appearance was Me and Veronica in 1992. Hare's other distinctive film credits include Black Oak Conspiracy (1977), The Electric Horseman (1979), Eyes of Fire (1983), Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984), The Aviator (1985) as well as his small appearance in the first Back to the Future film as Old Man Peabody.

Hare, who was also an active member of the Screen Actor's Guild for several years as well as the Actors Studio, died in Hollywood on August 31, 1997 of a heart attack. during a stage rehearsal of a play in which he was appearing in. He was 81 years old.
